Anderson Augusma
PhD in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics; Multimodal Perception in-the-wild.
Grenoble Computer Science Lab, France
I obtained my PhD in computer science and applied mathematics, specializing in “multimodal perception”. I’m affiliated with the Laboratoire Informatique de Grenoble (LIG), Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA).
Driven by a passion for integrating AI with real-world scenarios involving human-machine interactions, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and beyond, I am committed to advancing knowledge in my field. My current research interests lie on group emotion recognition in dynamic environments while taking into account the privacy safety of individuals.
My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in fundamental and applied mathematics, followed by a Master’s degree in the same field from 2017 to 2019 at Ecole Normale supérieure d’Haïti, Université d’Etat d’Haïti (UEH) with collaboration of Université des Antilles (UA) and Université de Poitiers, France. I then pursued a Master’s degree in Econometrics and Statistics, focusing on Data Science, IT Security and Risk, from 2019 to 2021 at Université Claude Bernard, Lyon, France.
In the future, I’d like to contribute to the advancement of machine perception research, for instance for autonomous cars, robots, or other, particularly in environments shared with humans and other users. I’d like to push back the boundaries of perception technologies, in particular by integrating the ability to recognize and interpret human emotions and behaviors in-the-wild.
Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, hiking and playing music. I played trumpet in the Orchestre du Campus de Grenoble (OCG).
